Join Team Slama 2024 alongside previous Team Slama alumni in the Poet’s Community Garden as they probe, provoke and explore "What does the Poetry Community mean and how does it grow?" ...

What is the interplay of how one's lived experience both speaks for itself and exists in a group? How do we create community consensus in our intersectional relationships? …

In a suspenseful, immersive experience, set in a garden full of shadows in the dark, come and converse with Melbourne's boldest poets as they weave and wrangle the topics of community taboos, censorship, poetic lineage, and poetry vs. utility in a multi-sensory showcase that takes us further out beyond the edges of where the poetry slam could ever take us. Kneel down in the grass with us to flourish on poetic grounds.

This event will be followed by a short community discussion/Q+A inviting the audience to dialogue on the topics of safety, vulnerability, accountability and identity within Melbourne’s spoken word poetry community, as it exists today.

Written, Performed and Produced by: Antonio Montaine, Lane Milburn, Hayley Ricketson, Jason Voss, Stephanie Gotze, Katie Lohner, Michelle Alina Boss and more.
